#15 Human Privilege
lundlovingpretendatheist: humanprivilege: Human Privilege is not having an entire month dedicated to your race and it not being considered racist while if a month was dedicated to white history you’d cry racism. I don’t see a Jewish History Month, or an Irish History Month, or Chinese History Month, or any other month dedicated to a single race. There should be no Black History Month, it...

tsubasadreams: humanprivilege: Human Privilege is not using white privilege as an excuse to not do something like get an education, hold a job, be a positive member of society. No one but you stops you from achieving these goals. You’re the only person responsible for your life, stop making excuses and blaming other people for your own shortcomings. Oh. My. God.  ARE YOU STUPID?!  RACISM IS...

#23 Human Privilege
Human Privilege is not assuming that light skinned PoC (People of Color) are treated better than dark skinned PoC. A lot of Arabs are treated just as badly and they’re not dark either. A lot of places still treat First Nations like shit and they’re also pretty light in complexion. There are lots of places in Canada who treat the French like shit.

#22 Human Privilege
Human Privilege is knowing that when a person reads a book, unless it is otherwise specified, they’ll assume the character(s) are like them, whether it be Chinese, Irish, African, Arab, French, Polish, etc  etc etc. When a friend’s niece reads a book, she imagines the character(s) are First Nation because she is First Nation.

Human Privilege is telling that asshole security guard who stops you every day to check your ID to remember your face because you work here. White privilege is a poor excuse to not do something about.

#19 Human Privilege
Human Privilege is being able to say that you’re not a color, you’re Polish, French, Irish, etc. Racism is assuming that white people don’t have culture, they’re just that: a color.

#18 Human Privilege
Human Privilege is realizing that no one, single race has suffered more than any other. Human Privilege is realizing that the Nazis didn’t give two shits about the opinions or pain of the Jews during the Holocaust, dismissing their situation and experiences as unworthy of discussion. Racism is assuming that your race suffered more than another.

#17 Human Privilege
Human Privilege is never using any racial slur against anyone, for any reason, and not getting upset when a black person thinks they’re not being racist and a white person tells them they’re full of shit. Black comedians make just as much fun of white as vice versa.  Also, if you were an educated person, you’d know that Jews, Irish, Spaniards, French, Russians, etc. know what...

#14 Human Privilege
Human Privilege is being upset that people of color assume all white people are privileged. No one is stopping anyone from getting an education, holding a job, moving up in a career except for that person his/herself. White privilege is an excuse to not do anything and sit around whining about it. There’s no such thing as white privilege.

Human Privilege is being able to embrace black culture without being called a wigger, a reverse oreo or anything of the kind. Embrace all cultures.

#12 Human Privilege
Human Privilege is being able to read about racism and know it has as much to do with you as anyone else, regardless of color, because racism affects everyone. Saying things like racism can’t affect people of a certain color but does affect only those of another color is in and of itself, racism. Racism is abuse against humans.

Human Privilege is realizing that even white people have suffered because of racism and that racism is not exclusively against people of color. #10 Human Privilege
Human Privilege is realizing that music doesn’t solely belong to any one, single color or race, but rather that it’s something that is shared, spread and reinvented. Find me any genre of music that is exclusively owned by a race. Until then, you can’t consider something that didn’t belong to you, or anyone for that matter, to begin with. Only individual songs and...

#8 Human Privilege
Human Privilege is realizing that there will always be someone, somewhere, who will be harassed, bullied and even threatened for various reasons and that you shouldn’t expect sympathy just because you’re a PoC. No one gives a shit about that white atheist girl who fought for the right to keep religion out of her public school, which resulted in death threats, harassment, violence from...

Human Privilege is knowing that there are assholes everywhere, and that even black store clerks will follow kids, bums, even Muslim women, around in the store. We have such a store here. Stop making it seem like only white folk do this.

#6 Human Privilege
Human Privilege is not feeling out of place at the top of any career field when you don’t make color an issue. There are more immigrants that are CEO’s than you’d believe who came to NA with just about nothing and struggled long and hard to get where they are now. Stop making excuses.

#4 Human Privilege
Human Privilege is realizing that maybe when you’re being told that how you speak is unprofessional may have absolutely nothing to do with your color, but rather has everything to do with how you actually speak. I know a lot of people who have potty mouths who I wouldn’t hire, regardless of color.
